Completing your PhD is a challenging task at the best of times. And while stressful episodes cannot be completely avoided, successful stress management and resilience can spell the difference between a successful degree and burnout.
This course provides the knowledge and skills required to meet the multiple demands and stresses of your doctoral project in a healthy and efficient way. As participants, you will learn the biological and psychological basics of stress, performance and strain management, acquire relevant key techniques and develop a personal resilience and performance strategy based on their everyday lives.
We will mix frontal input, group work and personal reflection of your everyday activities and tasks. We will also experience a range of hand-on techniques for relaxation, structuring and (re-)gaining your focus. Participants from all disciplines are welcome.
Main Topics
- The biopsychology of stress and productivity
