“You are competent, and people should hear, see, and feel that!”
Every day, scientists engage in dialogue with specialist audiences, students, employees, and colleagues. They present themselves and their expertise with posters, at networking events, in lectures and conferences, communicate in meetings, and engage in challenging conversations and discussions.
With your performance—your voice, body language, and charisma—you convey not only content, but also your personality as a scientist.
Nowadays, this is sometimes also necessary virtually.
It is not only important WHAT you say – HOW you say it is crucial!
People who are aware of their “instruments” – i.e., their voice, manner of speaking, and body language – whether standing or sitting – stand out from the crowd and have a clear competitive advantage.
The way you say something—depending on tone of voice, tempo, emphasis, volume, or body language, e.g., gestures—often says more than the words you use.
These “nonverbal signals” are picked up by people unfiltered and unconsciously and are therefore crucial!
Key questions that I address in my training:
- How do you find your own optimal speaking voice?
- How does good breathing technique work for speaking?
- How do you play with your voice?
- How do you control your speaking speed?
- How do you speak in an exciting, interesting and credible way?
- How can you effectively deal with stage fright?
- How do you articulate your content clearly and distinctly?
- How do you present convincingly and charismatically?
- How are body language and voice connected - and how do you use both in a targeted and professional manner, without appearing artificial?
- How can you create clarity of your own role and mission for challenging professional situations.
- What does "communicating profesionally" mean? / offering and maintaining contact - also VIRTUALLY !?!
