In today's competitive job market, the ability to effectively present yourself—both in writing and in person—is crucial to achieving your career ambitions. It’s no longer enough to excel in your field; you must also ensure others recognize your strengths. This two-day workshop equips scientists with the tools to transition smoothly into non-academic roles.

Day 1 The written application; application documents (cover letter and resume)
Design your CV and cover letter to reflect not only your qualifications but also your fit for the role and industry. Your application is your business card—make sure it represents you well.

  • Understanding differences between academic and non-academia applications
  • Defining your professional profile: personal strengths, skills, and experience
  • Tailoring your CV to specific sectors, job ads, and company cultures

Day 2: The oral application; Conducting job interviews
Learn how to navigate job interviews with confidence and communicate your value effectively. Discover what questions to expect and how to present yourself as a strong candidate.

  • Structure and goals of job interviews in non-academic sectors.
  • Preparing for typical questions in (non-academic) job interviews
  • How to ask insightful questions during interviews
  • Self-marketing: aligning self-perception with external expectations

EXTRA: The opportunity to get feedback on your CV on the second day
