Agreement on Doctorate Supervision & Progress report

According to the doctoral regulations of December 06, 2014 (and according amendments) the following, among other, is required for a doctorate at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences:

1.) Prior to commencing his or her dissertation, the doctoral researcher consults with the supervisor and the mentor. As a result of this consultation a written Supervision Agreement is concluded in which the two parties’ mutual requirements are clearly stipulated. This agreement must include at least the information listed in § 3(6) of the doctoral regulations.

2.) The doctoral researcher, the supervisor(s) and the mentor meet at least once a year in order to compile a progress report. Among other the progress report describes, which objectives are to be targeted in the coming year and documents fulfilled objectives and changes to the Supervision agreement.

For (future) iGRAD members it is recommendable to discuss the planned iGRAD curriculum and additional trainings, too. Please find below specifically adapted forms for iGRAD members including agreements on scientific and additional trainings.

Doctoral researchers not aiming for an iGRAD membership will find a shortened template for an agreement on doctorate supervision on the website of the deanery.

Doctoral researchers in structured programs (e.g. research training groups) might need specific forms. Please contact your program coordination office. Coordinators of structured programs may contact the iGRAD office for template forms.

Please feel free to contact us in the iGRAD-Office in case of questions regarding the supervision agreement.
